Hey, my name is Maria and I work as a freelance photographer and designer!
Who are you and what do you do?
Why do you do what you do?
A great artist once said: If I could tell the story in words, I would not need to drag a camera around!
What´s your background
There are many artists from different areas in my family, so creativity has accompanied me ever since my childhood!
What´s integral to the work of an artist?
This is difficult to limit, because every artist comes with a different background, a unique personal history and inner workings! You can’t follow an exact recipe, just follow your heart!
What role does the artist have in society?
As an artist you have the freedom to say what others might not dare to say, but in a global language– It’s like you’re a megaphone for society!
What art do you most identify with?
I love when you can feel the genuineness and honesty! That’s why my second great passion (besides photography) is dance! There is no other art form that gives me goose bumps and can stir me to tears in just a few seconds.
What´s your strongest memory of your childhood?
When I was a child, we moved around a lot, I was always confronted with new beginnings, new places and also new friends! I had to say „goodbye“ very often. ...maybe this is the reason for being a photographer today, for the love of being able to capture moments and emotions, so they can never be lost!
What´s your favorite art work?
An acrylic painting from my mum called „the dancer“
(By the way, this is the only thing that survived every move!)
What jobs have you done... other than being an artist?
Puh, I`ve tried many different areas before – I`ve worked (for example) as a receptionist, shop assistant, office manager etc...!
I have even studied informatics, psychology and philosophy for a short time!
Because the earth without art is just „meh“
What inspires you?
Mostly I find myself inspired by people and situations but also a lot by nature!
What do you dislike about the art world?
I don’t understand why there is still this sneakiness and envy between many artists! Sharing your knowledge and working together will definitely lead to more happiness and great success with exciting results!
Should art be funded?
